LOUISIANA HOUSING AUTHORITY DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE

The prospective homeowner must also meet income and purchase price limits. Income limits vary with the number of persons in the household and by parish. Purchase price limits vary according to the number of units in the property and if it is located in a targeted or non-targeted area. Also, the home buyer must use the house as his/her principal place of residence.

JEFFERSON PARISH DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE

Eligible participants must complete a preliminary application with supporting documentation. Eligible participants include households that have not owned a home during the past three years. The annual maximum allowable household income limits based on family size, as follows. For example, the annual income of a family of four cannot exceed $48,900.

1 – $34,250         2 – $39,150         3 – $44,050         4 – $48,900

5 – $52,850         6 – $56,750         7 – $60,650         8 – $64,550

Applicants are required to attend two classes and must present an acceptable certificate of training completion.  Applicants are required to provide a $1,500 down payment contribution on their home purchase at closing.

ST BERNARD PARISH DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE

Income Limits will be adjusted annually according to HUD MSA publications.

Home buyer must have a minimum investment of 1% of Purchase Price or $1,000, whichever is greater.

CITY OF SHREVEPORT DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE

Basic Criteria & Eligibility Requirements

Income of up to 80% of the area median income.

First-time home buyer/existing homeowner.

Property must be in the corporate limits of the City of Shreveport.

Applicant and Co-Applicant must complete the home buyer education classes.
 

CALCASIEU PARISHES

MORTGAGE CREDIT CERTIFICATE

In order to first participate in the Program, first-time home buyers must meet certain income, location and purchase price requirements for the loan, purchase a home and obtain a mortgage loan through one of our participating lenders. The property must be within the five parishes of Imperial Calcasieu.  The program allows up to $2000 in annual dollar for dollar tax credit much like the Earned Income Tax Credit works for the life of the loan.

A borrowing family’s current annualized gross monthly income must not exceed certain limits.  The Maximum income limits of the program are as follows (subject to change):
